According to TechRadar, if that MacBook Pro arrives at the beginning of the year, they could find themselves facing a reduced amount of stock. They cite Ming-Chi Kuo, an analyst and leaker of information about Apple, who claims to have changed his mind about the possibility of the M3 SoC appearing this year.
The M3 would have been brought forward so that Apple has a rebound in sales
Previously, Kuo claimed that the M3 MacBook Pro would not be coming this year, with Apple planning to release it in 2024. Recent tweets claim that that prediction has since changed course, especially after Apple announced its October event with the tagline “Scary fast.”
He now believes the launch event will revolve around the MacBook Pro M3 , based on Apple's limited production stock for the fourth quarter of this year. If the MacBook Pro M3 arrives in stores in November or December, stock will be scarce and demand will likely be quite strong at launch.
This is because Apple was forced to release the MacBook Pro M3 due to declining sales of Mac products. Apple hasn't met sales expectations, and this low demand is likely because the jump from the M1 to the M2 SoC hasn't been very noticeable. Therefore, with a SoC that represents a significant improvement, even over the M1, many people would be interested in upgrading their device if the M2 didn't convince them, even if it's still perfectly functional.
Apple is feeling the pressure and the need to bring that chip to market, which is why the announcement of the event on the 30th felt so sudden. They already had a presentation with the iPhone 15 in September!
