Apple works on an AR / VR viewer with 8K resolution per eye and that would arrive in 2020

Anonymous source has stated that Apple would be developing a viewer for augmented reality and virtual reality that will offer an 8K resolution for each eye and that it will hit the market in 2020.

This year is not being anything good for Apple in the smartphone market and its iPhone X, to celebrate ten years since the arrival of the first iPhone on the market, has ended in a total fiasco in terms of sales. The company appears to have set its eyes on another market and according to information from CNET, from an 'anonymous person familiar with Apple's plans', the company would be developing AR / VR headsets with an 8K resolution per eye and that would be launched in 2020.

Apple has been hiring augmented reality and virtual reality experts for some time, registering patents and acquiring companies in the sector, which has generated a lot of buzz about it. CNET says Apple is working on an AR / VR viewer for the year 202. This device does not have a commercial name and is known as T288 and it would offer an 8K resolution for each eye and the power would be provided by a processor specially developed by Apple for this task, but it could also receive transmissions wirelessly through the band of 60GHz. The information also highlights that it will implement inside-out tracking, instead of traditional external trackers.

CNET is a serious medium and this information would not be from someone unreliable and uncontracted, but hey, it is quite difficult to know how far it is or not in the way of what is predictably being developed in Cupertino. The codename is striking, as the company often uses multiple names to prevent leaks.

Logically, from the company they have not denied anything and prefer to remain silent before the development of their own helmet for virtual reality. Last year Apple already commented that they would offer support for their products for virtual reality SteamVR and HTC Vive. We will see how this evolves, because it is very interesting.
