ASUS Announces Custom Models of the NVIDIA RTX 2080 and RTX 2080 Ti

Confirmed the customized models by ASUS of the NVIDIA RTX 2080 Ti and RTX 2080 and the prices that these graphics will have as output.

The arrival of the new NVIDIA RTX graphics brings with it a large number of models customized by different manufacturers. Among these manufacturers we find ASUS, who has officially revealed the first custom models based on Turing GPUs. In general, there are not excessive new features with respect to the current models since it uses the heatsinks that we can already see on the market in the top-of-the-range models.

ASUS presents its custom models based on the NVIDIA RTX.

As usual, the best and hottest models will be part of the Republic of Gamers family designed for gaming enthusiasts who want something exclusive. They have been developed to offer the highest possible performance through a custom PCB that has 16 VRM power phases for the RTX 2080 Ti model with high Boost frequencies allowing a stable OC state.

That a graphics card bends is not a good thing and for this reason the company in the STRIX range has implemented a reinforcement to prevent it from bending and can be damaged and this is achieved with some adjustments in the fins but especially with a metallic backplate which gives robustness to the graph.

The heatsink based on aluminum fins for the STRIX RTX 2080 Ti and RTX 2080 is large occupying three PCI slots which allows a semi-passive dissipation up to 55ºC which allows to significantly reduce the noise level of the herself. Additionally it implements RGB lighting ASUS Aura and something interesting is that it implements two connectors for fans inside the box compatible with PWM and DC. This allows fans to be controlled based on the temperature of the chart and allows adding external air flow if necessary.

The cheapest models will be the DUAL and the TURBO. The DUAL model will be based on a 2.7 slot PCI heatsink with backplate while the TURBO has a turbine mode designed for systems that use more than one graphic. The prices will be:

  • RTX 2080 Ti Dual: $ 1240
  • RTX 2080 Ti Turbo: $ 1210
  • RTX 2080 ROG STRIX: $ 870
  • RTX 2080 Dual: $ 840
