ASUS launches the RTX 2070 EVO v2 OC, a slightly more compact version

This year we should theoretically see graphics cards on the market NVIDIA Ampere, which would take a big leap from Turing. The architecture Turing introduced by NVIDIA is the first on the market Gaming en withstand Ray Tracing. This technology, which not everyone likes, is here to stay. Now ASUS has presented the RTX 2070 EVO v2 OC, a shorter and revised model of the RTX 2070EVO.

Manufacturers occasionally release enhanced or special versions of their graphics cards. ASUS is the one who makes the most improvements and updates to its graphics. The interesting thing is that it is the RTX 2070 model, which being the RTX 2060 Super and the RTX 2070 Super does not seem to make much sense.

ASUS launches the RTX 2070 EVO v2 OC

This graphics card has the NVIDIA TU106-400-A1 GPU, which is the same GPU as current models. The renewed version of ASUS is characterized by going from the 1620MHz of the reference model to the 1740Mz. The memories are not changed, also counting with 8GB GDDR6 @ 14GHz. Additionally, this graphics card is powered by an 8-pin PCI connector.

We have looked for the dimensions of the 'original' model of the RTX 2070 EVO and towards 267x118x58mm. The new model is more compact, becoming 242x130x53mm. Although it gains a little width, it is only one centimeter, but the length of it is reduced. One may think that this does not contribute much, but in compact systems the difference can be noticed.

It should be noted that the ASUS heatsink meets the high standards of the brand and the axial fans have IP5X certification that protects from dust. They maintain the two HDMI 2.0b outputs, the DisplayPort 1.4 and the DVI-D. At the moment there is no talk of price or availability, but it should not change with respect to the previous version.
