Asus ROG launches its new SLI HB bridge model
Asus' gaming division, ROG or Republic of Gamers, has launched its new SLI HB bridge. The technology of these bridges has evolved over the years, adding some very important features and improving others such as data transfer or refresh rates. But these bridges have to continue to be updated, as monitors have not stopped doing so and we are already seeing some with 1440p and 144Hz resolutions.
Rather than reinventing the design of this new device and throwing away the work done on previous models (which still works perfectly for the GTX 10’s Pascal architecture), the company has decided to take a new approach so that the two “SLI fingers” communicate more efficiently and thus generate double the transmitted bandwidth. Apart from this, Asus has once again jumped on the light bandwagon and added RGB lighting to the logo that can be controlled via software or via the touchpad on the bridge.
This new SLI bridge has been designed following the lines of Asus brand graphics cards, in this case the ROG Strix with the same angular aesthetics and is available in 3 and 4 slot variants. Obviously the bridge has to be powered and this can be plugged into the 4-pin connector of the motherboard for synchronized lighting effects, luckily this connector allows more than one RGB device to be connected at the same time.
