ASUS changed the capacitors of their RTX 3080s before launching them
These days NVIDIA RTX 3000 graphics cards are on everyone's lips for the theoretical problems of the capacitors. Manufacturers have confirmed this by changing the capacitor settings. The graphics to date that have not been affected by this problem are those from ASUS. It seems that ASUS before launching its RTX 3080 graphics changed the design of the capacitors.
Initially the images of the ASUS graphics showed the SP-CAP capacitors, but for review and to the market they have arrived with MLCC. It seems that they had time to carry out the first tests and realized the problem. We imagine that some model was subjected to overclocking and began to give significant stability problems.

The ASUS RTX 3080 TUF on the web appeared with SP-CAP capacitors but in the end it has come up with MLCC capacitors. It seems that by chance they would have detected that their graphics had stability problems above 2.0GHz. After much research they would have detected that the problem would be the capacitors, hence the change. This would be the model by which the STRIX models, the most advanced, would have been delayed in terms of the planned launch.

That this problem exists does not mean that the graphs have a physical problem. The reality is that they have a limitation due to the capacitor configuration, nothing more. In addition, NVIDIA has released the GeForce 456.55 WHQL drivers that would help correct this problem.
There are Reddit users who reported initial freezing issues indicating that these new drivers are no longer a problem. We do not know if it is due to the fact that the drivers eliminate some type of cap that generated part of the problem. At the moment NVIDIA has not indicated how they have managed to correct the stability problems through drivers. Likewise, there was some unknown limit that has been disabled by drivers.
