be quiet! has followed that philosophy and launched its new Silent Base 802 box. It turns out to be an improvement over the 801, launched in 2018. As with the 201 model, the 802 model integrates sound-absorbing panels to reduce noise but with options to remove them to offer other panels that promote the flow of air in the box.
Thus they adapt to a greater number of users, in line with the recently announced heatsink Shadow Rock 3 White and Cool Loop liquid cooling. In this way, both the front and top panels can be changed for this purpose. The soundproofing panels that make up the Silent Base 802 are located on the unobtrusive side, the front and the top. Absos are optional and all of them have a thickness of 10 mm.
For soundproofing, the box has three 2cm Pure Wings 14 fans built in as standard. Additionally, up to 6 fans can be connected to a controller to be configured in unison. No screwdrivers are required to disassemble it, since everything is handy with easy-to-remove anchors. Finally, the box allows the motherboard to be mounted on the side of the tempered glass, and this on the side of the motherboard, thus reversing the internal layout.
It also supports triple 14 cm radiators in the front, as well as 3 units of 3.5 "or up to 7 of 2.5". Motherboards up to E-ATX can be installed and on the front panel we find a USB-C 3.2 Gen2 (USB 3.1), among other connections. The Silent Base 802 box can be purchased from be quiet! in white or black colors at the end of November for 159.90 Euros. But if we want the version with tempered glass, we will have to pay 10 euros more.
