Benchmark of AMD RX 590 in Final Fantasy XV can't with NVIDIA GTX 1060 6GB GDDR5

The first benchmark of the new AMD RX 590 can be seen under the Final Fantasy XV game, which does not exceed the performance of the GTX 1060 6GB GDDR5.

We have been speculating for days about the arrival of the AMD RX 590 graphics cards, which would be based on the umpteenth rehash of Polaris. Little is known about this graphics card, such as what the working frequencies will be, the amount of memory or other relevant data. While all these unknowns are clarified, a benchmark of this new graphics card has been leaked under the Final Fantasy XV game, which is specially optimized for AMD solutions.

It should be noted that the RX 590 is a simple rehash of the RX 580, which coincidentally is another rehash of the RX 480. This new model will have some difference and that is that it will be based on the 12nm manufacturing process, which will allow an increase in working frequencies and a slight adjustment in consumption. There is no data on the memories, but GDDR5X memories may be used.

According to the data, the RX 590 is an average of 13% more powerful than the RX 580, even reaching 15% in the case of 4K resolutions. But it is not capable of beating the GTX 1060 6GB, except in the case of 2K resolution, although it should be noted that the ideal resolution for both graphics is at 1080p resolutions.

Although the performance improvement of the RX 590 is important, we must emphasize that NVIDIA's countermeasure, the GTX 1060 6GB GDDR5X, must offer a higher performance than the one that implements GDDR5 memory and would also use a superior GPU, with reduced performance reaching the same CUDA Cores as the current graphics. We'll see what happens when the first benchmarks of the GTX 1060 6GB GDDR5X come out.
