AMD Ryzen 3 2300X and Ryzen 5 2500X Processor Benchmark
Published the first benchmarks of the AMD Ryzen 3 2300X and Ryzen 5 2500X processors, two Ryzen that are exclusively for the OEM market.
Last October, AMD announced the AMD Ryzen 3 2300X and Ryzen 5 2500X processors. These processors have not been released for the general market, they have been released only for equipment manufacturers. They cannot be found in stores independently, only within clone systems. A rather curious decision on the part of AMD, which would have seen it unnecessary to launch these processors to the general public.
First benchmark of the AMD Ryzen 3 2300X and Ryzen 5 2500X
Regarding the specifications of these processors, the Ryzen 3 2300X is characterized by having four cores and four threads. It works at a base frequency of 3.5GHz and can reach 4.0GHz in Boost mode. On the other hand is the Ryzen 5 2500X with four cores and eight threads. This processor arrives with a base frequency of 3.6GHz and in Boost mode it will reach 4.0GHz. They both have a TDP of 65W.
The guys at Anandtech have made one of each of these processors, testing them in professional tools and in gaming. We can see how in rendering tasks the Ryzen 5 2500X is at the height of the Core i5 8400 with six cores and six threads. We see on the other hand that the Ryzen 3 2300X is superior in the rendering test to the Core i5 6600K, with four cores and four processing threads.
The GTX 1080 graphics card has been used for the gaming benchmark at 1080p resolution, which would generate a small bottleneck. This does not occur in the Core i5 8600K, which tends to get more out of this graph.
Regarding consumption, the AMD Ryzen 3 2300X has a load consumption of 63W. We have on the other hand that the AMD Ryzen 5 2500X has a consumption of about 79W in load. The consumptions are more or less equivalent to the Intel equivalents. There is no evidence that these processors end up reaching the general market.
