The first benchmark of a thirty-two-core AMD Naples processor is leaked, which are based on the Zen architecture.

The new AMD Zen processors for the commercial and gaming segment are just around the corner and with them will also come the professional version, intended for servers and other systems that require this type of processors. AMD Naples has now revealed its potential using the Geekbench benchmark. Through this CPU, which is in the prototype phase, it has been named 2S1451A4VIHE4_29 / 14_N.

Said processor has been mounted on a motherboard with two CPU sockets and this processor is characterized by having 32 cells and 64 processing threads, working at a base frequency of 1.44GHz and a Boost mode of 2.9GHz. Naples has offered a score of 1141 points in single core and 15620 in multi core.

Comparing with the 5-core Intel Haswell Xeon E2683-3 v28, which works at 2GHz with a 3GHz Boost mode, which was launched in Q3 2014, it obtained 2995 points in a single core while in multi-core it obtained 25583. In both cases the Linux operating system has been used. The normal thing is to think that AMD will improve the processor frequencies, but we must also take into account the prices of these processors.

The person in charge of developing AMD Naples in a 14nm FinFet architecture has been Global Foundries. This processor stands out for offering eight channels for DDR4 RAM and up to 128 PCIe 3.0 lanes. Storage is another factor, supporting up to 32 SATA or NVME drives. According to the data, it has a controller with up to sixteen 10Gb Ethernet connections. They will make use of the LGA SP3 socket, logically thought for servers and professional environments, arriving in 35W base models and up to a maximum of 180W. Naples will also arrive in versions of two, four, sixteen and thirty-two cores.

NOTE: we have been looking for the results in Geekbench and they are gone, which clearly indicates that it has been removed from the database for this benchmark.
