Intel Core i9-12900HK benchmark with 14 cores leaks
The Intel Core Alder Lake series release is a two-part release. The first half of desktop processors have already come to light, while notebook CPUs are yet to be released by the beginning of next year, with the Intel Core i9-12900HK being the one that promises to be the star processor of this series of CPUs for laptops and netbooks.
Since there is relatively little left for its official launch, unofficial benchmarks of this Intel Core i9-12900HK model are already starting to come out. It should be said that until the Intel Core i9-12900HK has finally been released, the benchmarks must be taken with care because they are usually with preview products and without the updated drivers or platforms.
This is how the Intel Core i9-12900HK Alder Lake goes in benchmarks
It is true that a few weeks ago some benchmarks of the Intel Core i9-12900HK came out, but now there is a direct link to them, which confirms their veracity. The processor appears in a Lenovo 82S9 laptop model, which could be the next-gen Legion gaming system. In that benchmark, a clock speed of 4888 MHz has been reached, and it reaches up to 4976 MHz.
The Core i9-12900HK is an unlocked CPU for overclocking, with up to 14 cores and 20 threads. Its core organization would be six performance cores and eight efficiency cores, which would make it ideal for multitasking with light processes. The Intel Alder Lake-P series of high-end mobile devices will not offer more cores, but it is possible that Intel will release higher frequency variants in the future.
Performance wise, the score drops from 1851 points previously filtered to 1751 points with a single core. Multi-core performance is cut almost in half, from 13256 to 6438. This second benchmark of the Intel Core i9-12900HK uses the integrated Xe-LP graphics, which to some extent could explain the performance drop. Unlike the newly released Alder Lake-S CPUs with up to 32 execution units, the mobile variants will offer up to 96 UEs.
The new entry does not provide too much new data on the CPU, other than confirming that this model exists. But despite underperforming that previously leaked, it still ranks ahead of the AMD Ryzen 9 5980HX in the single-threaded test.
