Meteor Lake iGPUs would reach 2.2 GHz according to a benchmark

Intel is in the final stages of preparing its Meteor Lake chips for release later this year, barring last-minute incidents. The next series of Core Ultra processors for laptops will introduce an architecture based on process technology Intel 4. And since its launch is close, the usual iGPU benchmarks could not be missing, which could be production or engineering samples of these Meteor Lake.

With this new architecture, a hybrid design with Redwood Cove cores (Core) and Crestmont cores (Atom) is incorporated. This generation is expected, above all, to increase pro-watt performance and graphics capacity, designed for entry-level office and gaming laptops. As always, we recommend taking these benchmarks as guidelines, since they are usually done without having updated drivers.

This would be the iGPU of the Meteor Lake according to a benchmark

According to a Golden Pig Upgrade report, the Qualification Sample (QS) of an Intel Meteor Lake CPU would currently work in a power range of 20 to 65 W. According to the benchmark, it could achieve a boost clock of up to 4,8 GHz.

It falls short of the 5,0 GHz boost of the Core i7-1370P of the Raptor Lake generation. The source suggests that the goal is to reach 5,0 GHz with the new Core Ultra 9 series.

The complete compute chip consists of 6 performance cores, 8 efficiency cores, and 2 low power efficiency cores. The GPU subsystem will include 8 Xe cores with 128 execution units or 1024 shader units. Combined with the 2,2 GHz boost clock, it provides a single precision computing power of 4,5 TFLOPS,. That would be a 5% increase compared to the Radeon 780M RDNA3 iGPU used in the Phoenix APUs.

But we are talking about a generation of CPU that is not intended to be for high-end gaming computers. Its priority is to offer good performance at low consumption, so an iGPU like this would be for the most restrained games, if that's the most popular ones known for not asking for much graphically.
