The RTX 4060 disappoints in its first leaked benchmark

Nvidia's RTX 4060 graphics card isn't too far from the market, and it's even been rumored that we might see it on the market sooner than expected. For this reason, it is not strange that the occasional filtered benchmark appears based on engineering reference models of the RTX 4060, or with the drivers not updated.

This means we have to take them with a grain of salt and consider them data that could be outdated and not reflect the final performance. But it's a way to see where its performance level stands, in case we're thinking of buying one. Although the first benchmarks of the RTX 4060 aren't surprising us with their results , as has been the case with previous models in the RTX 4000 series.

The RTX 4060 does not surprise in its first leaked benchmark

This first benchmark comes from Benchleaks on Twitter and was discovered by the website VideoCardz. This performance test shows the RTX 4060's performance in Geekbench 6 calculation tests.

The GPU scored 105.630 in the OpenCL test and 99.419 in Vulkan. VideoCardz has provided some comparisons to give some perspective on what these results mean. They say the RTX 4060 is around 17-18% faster than its predecessor, the RTX 3060. The latter is one of the most popular cards on Steam, so such an increase is significant, but for many, it might not justify upgrading if they already own an RTX 3060.

As with all leaks, you have to take them as a guide, and wait for results with final versions and updated drivers. They are not bad results, and the performance improvement is noticeable. But we are talking about a graphics for the entry range of a series characterized by increased performance, so it is possible that users expected more, and those who have not upgraded want to continue looking for an RTX 3060 if the price of the RTX 4060 does not help to.
