Several AMD Ryzen 8040 Hawk Point APU benchmarks leaked

It should be said that the AMD Hawk Point APU series is an update of the current Ryzen 7040 family Phoenix Point. They will have the same Zen 4 cores and RDNA 3 graphics architecture. The three SKUs that have been leaked are the Ryzen 9 8940H, the Ryzen 7 8840HS and the Ryzen 5 8640HS.
Three benchmarks of future AMD Ryzen 8040 APUs have been leaked
The flagship, the AMD Ryzen 9 8940H APU; would have the same specifications as the Ryzen 9 7940H with 8 cores, 16 threads, a base clock of 4,0 GHz, a boost clock of 5,2 GHz and 16 MB of L3 cache. It would come with the AMD Radeon 780M iGPU with 12 computing units and runs at 2,8 GHz. Then there would be the AMD Ryzen 7 8840HS APU, with 8 cores, 16 threads and 16 MB of L3 cache, but with a lower clock speed, 3,80 GHz base and 5,1 GHz boost, similar to the AMD Ryzen 7 7840HS. Both APUs should maintain a similar TDP of between 35 and 54 W. Finally, the AMD Ryzen 5 8640HS APU would be the counterpart to the AMD Ryzen 5 7640HS, with 6 cores, 12 threads, 16 MB of L3 cache, a base clock of 4,30 GHz and a boost clock of 5,0 GHz. It would have the Radeon 760M iGPU with 8 computing units at 2,6 GHz.
For the benchmark, the three APUs were tested on a laptop ASUS TUF Gaming A15, with 32 GB of DDR5-5600 system memory. In terms of performance, the AMD Ryzen 9 8940H scored 2512 points in single-core, and 13.104 in multi-core; the Ryzen 7 8840HS scored 2286 points in single-core and 11.550 points in multi-core; and finally, the Ryzen 5 8640HS obtained 2276 points and 10.469 points respectively.
They are not a huge improvement over the current Phoenix Point APUs. But it's a slight improvement. focused on lower energy consumption in laptops, a field that is increasingly in demand in the face of performance.
