NVIDIA RTX 3080 20GB GDDR6X and RTX 3070 16GB GDDR6 canceled

The launch of the NVIDIA RTX 3000 graphics cards has not been smooth at all. Even before the RTX 3080 was launched on the market, there was already talk of a review of it with 20GB GDDR6X. It seems that finally the RTX 3080 20GB GDDR6X and the hypothetical RTX 2070 16GB GDDR6 would have been canceled by NVIDIA, according to VideoCardz.

Both the RTX 3080 20GB GDDR6X and RTX 3070 16GB GDDR6 were supposed to arrive during the month of December. It seems that NVIDIA has canceled the launch of these graphics cards, and they would not have been delayed. We do not know why they were canceled, but it could be due to manufacturing problems.

Goodbye to the NVIDIA RTX 3080 20GB GDDR6X and RTX 16GB GDDR6, which would have been canceled

"We do not know the official reason for the cancellation," they indicate from VideoCardz. "The RTX 3080 20GB could have been scrapped due to poor performance issues with GDDR6X memory." We didn't know anything about the RTX3070 16GB GDDR6, but it would have been canceled for unknown reasons.

The cancellation is at least curious, since they looked like graphics destined to compete with the AMD flagship. And is that the hypothetical AMD RX 6900 XT would come with 16GB GDDR6X, even more than the RTX 3080 that has 10GB GDDR6X.

It should be noted that despite the fact that this rumor has appeared, NVIDIA had at no time confirmed both graphs. Note that initially it was indicated that these graphs only expanded the amount of VRAM. It is not ruled out that they are finally launched but with more CUDA Cores, thus launching the 'Super' or 'Ti' models.

The same is that AMD graphics are not real competition for NVIDIA graphics, but this is a hypothesis. Remember that the Radeon RX 6000 would arrive with frequencies much higher than 2.0GHz. On October 28 we will know what the new AMD graphics are like and we will know something more about their performance.
