Mark Papermaster, CTO of AMD, says that in addition to the Radeon VII they will launch more 7nm graphics

During an interview, Mark Papermaster, Chief Technology Officer of AMD said that this year we will see more graphics cards based on 7nm.

AMD's Keynote at CES 2019 has been of little use, given what they are presenting after the event. Many words, many videos and a couple of guests, not to say much. After the presentation we have learned much more about the Radeon VII and the Ryzen 3000 Series. Also thanks to an interview in The Street with AMD's Director of Technology, Mark Papermaster, we know that in addition to the Radeon VII they will launch more graphics cards.

Papermaster wanted to make it clear that they will not leave the mid-range of graphics cards this 2019. Nor is it that they can afford that luxury, since it is the segment where they obtain the most income. He highlighted that in addition to the Radeon VII we will see new 7nm graphics for the mid-range.

"We are very excited to start at the highest level with our 7nm Radeon VII […] and will see more announcements throughout the year as we update our Radeon series." Papermaster said during the interview.

Very possibly AMD will also launch solutions for the game media and entry range this year. The 7nm lithograph aims to have a lot of prominence for AMD this year. This means that the RX 590 has only been an improvisation to save time. We must remember that the RX 590 is based on the Polaris architecture and that it is an overclocked RX 580 period.

We do not rule out that these new solutions leave aside Vega II (base of the Radeon VII) and bet on Navi. The Navi graphics in theory will carry GDDR6 memory, thus allowing the price of the graphics to be reduced by more than 200 dollars compared to the models that use HBM2.
