The size of the NVIDIA RTX 3090 is gigantic compared to the RTX 3080 and RTX 3070

The new NVIDIA RTX 3000 graphics cards are characterized by a different and innovative heatsink. During the presentation we saw the RTX 3080 with a compact PCB and the new heatsink. We also saw the RTX 3090 with this new heatsink and it was already targeting a truly humongous size. The RTX 3070 was also seen, much more compact and with a different heatsink design. Now we see them together.
As we can see, the RTX 3070 changes the type of heatsink and is much smaller than the RTX 3080. The RTX 3080 is also smaller than the RTX 3090, although in this case they both share the same heatsink. It is true that the heatsink of the RTX 3090 is longer, thicker and taller.

Size difference between the NVIDIA RTX 3090, RTX 3080 and RTX 3070
With the Turing architecture graphics (RTX 2000) we saw some changes in graphic size, especially between the RTX 3070 and RTX 3060. Now the change in size between graphics is more noticeable and the comparison shows it. Just looking at them, it is clear that the RTX 3080 and RTX 3070 will be quite light and the RTX 3090 looks very heavy.
The particularity of the RTX 3090 is in the GPU that has 10496 CUDA Cores working up to 1695MHz. We are talking about many nuclei at important frequencies, which means generating a lot of heat. All this without counting the heat generated by the 24GB GGR6X on 24 1GB chips and the VRMs needed to power the beast.
It seems quite likely that the RTX 3060, if it has a Founders Edition model, is the same size as the RTX 3070. We also don't know very well if there will be more models under the RTX 3060. Rumors suggest that yes, but they would already have support for Ray Tracing, the GTX models without RT Cores are over.
