Computex 2020 postponed to end of September due to coronavirus

Major events around the world are being canceled or postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic. The Mobile World Congress, the GDC or the GTC are some of the most notable examples. Today the Tokyo Olympics have been postponed and now we also know that Computex is postponed. TAITRA, the company organizing the event, following the request of the brands, has postponed the event.

Today has been a key day, after it was learned that several participating companies had requested the suspension. It was initially scheduled to take place between June 2 and 6. Finally it is postponed and will be held between September 28 and 30. As we can see, not only is it postponed, but the dates are also compressed, cutting the number of days.

Computex 2020 postponed due to coronavirus

For several weeks the event has been hanging by a thread and with the current situation, they have not wanted to risk it. Who was going to say that all the brands that canceled their attendance at MWC were absolutely right in the world. GSMA, MWC organizers wanted to celebrate at all costs, but the trickle of absences ended up forcing the event to be suspended. And now it is Computex 2020's turn.

A cancellation, on the other hand, with preventive effects. It is clear that with the situation, if it was not canceled by the good, it would end by canceling by the bad. TAITRA has simply prevented brands from saying publicly that they were not going for safety, thus avoiding what happened with the Barcelona event.

Everything suggests that this postponement directly affects large hardware presentations. Rumors indicated that AMD would take advantage of this event to present the Ryzen 4000 and RDNA2. Finally it will not be in June, as it seemed planned and the presentation will be postponed until September. Remember that rumors point to a joint launch in October of the GPUs and CPUs by AMD.
