Recent leaks about what could be NVIDIA's RTX 4070 continue to surface. The website WCCFTECH reports that this graphics card will offer performance levels similar to the RTX 3080 , with power consumption levels similar to NVIDIA's RTX 3060.
It might not seem like much, but it translates to huge performance gains per watt. It not only performs like an enthusiast-level graphics card that's only two years old, but it consumes power like a mid-range card from that generation. And that's not even including DLSS 3 compatibility.
The RTX 4070 paints that it will be a great offer to improve the graphics after years
With a leaked price of $599 USD (excluding taxes) for the graphics card, Nvidia's RTX 4070 would arrive with a similar price to the RTX 3070 Ti . However, it would offer slightly better performance, DLSS 3 compatibility, and 12GB of GDDR6X memory, which is 4GB more than the RTX 3070 Ti. This would be a very tempting offer to boost sales of the RTX 4000 series, which haven't been very strong recently, especially with the RTX 4080 model.
Compared to Nvidia's RTX 3070, the RTX 4070 would be expensive, but more powerful and more efficient, as expected from a lower generation. The graphics card would consume less power under load , making GPU cooling easier and eliminating the need for a high-output power supply. It would also have greater memory bandwidth and larger internal caches, allowing for even more internal memory bandwidth. Finally, it would also be compatible with features from Nvidia's RTX 4000 series, such as AV1 encoding and DLSS 3 support.
A chart posted by Videocardz shows the specs and price of Nvidia's RTX 4070. They showed factors where Nvidia's Ada Lovelace architecture offers performance and efficiency advantages over RTX 3000 series graphics cards. Nvidia is expected to launch its RTX 4000 series graphics cards in the coming weeks, and the same portal Videocardz claims they would be coming out on April 13. That would mean that we will have the official news next week at the latest, and before that we would already be seeing leaked benchmarks ahead of time.
