Control consumes up to 18.5GB of VRAM memory
A few days ago Control was launched, a demanding game that with active RayTracing can consume up to 18.5GB of VRAM memory.
Games are becoming more demanding, especially those that implement the RayTracing technology introduced by NVIDIA. The latest to implement this technology Real-time light ray tracing has been Control. This title has been widely promoted by NVIDIA by making use of its technology. Well, according to TweakTown, the Control game is capable of using up to 18.5GB of VRAM memory.
Control game is a single player RPG shooter that has a great story and good graphics. Although the graphics are good, they are below expectations, which has caused complaints from users. The title developed by Remedy is generally being liked, with the only downside of the graphics.
Up to 18.5GB of VRAM consumes Control
Seeing how far the games and hardware go is very interesting. TweakTown companions have wanted to know how demanding this game is for the hardware. For this they have run the game in 4K and 8K resolutions. With RayTracing active and DirectX 12 instructions, it can consume up to 18.5GB of VRAM, which is nonsense.
Currently on the market, the only one that has more VRAM than the game consumes is the NVIDIA TITAN RTX. This NVIDIA graphics card is a hybrid monster for gaming and professional segment with 24GB of VRAM. Just below we have the Radeon VII that has 16GB of VRAM, but already with less memory than the top.
Some data that lets us see how well optimized the game is and how the developers seek to unleash the full potential of the graphics. Under 4K UHD resolution and active RayTracing, 8.1GB of VRAM has been reached. The 18.5GB of VRAM is in 8K with RayTracing.
