Ryzen 5 3600 in a box for Ryzen 3 3200G APUs
The world of hardware sometimes leaves us images that are quite strange and difficult to explain. One of these curiosities comes to us from China. There they have found AMD Ryzen 5 3600 processors layered for Ryzen 3 3200G APUs. The only strange thing in this case is the packaging, since inside we would find the Ryzen 5 3600 processor.
An quite unusual situation in the hardware world, without a doubt. It seems that this would be being done from AMD and it would not be a scam attempt, at all. The hypothesis being considered is that the Ryzen 5 3600 and Ryzen 5 3600X processors they are being sold in huge quantities and there are no boxes for everyone.

The funny thing is the box indicates that inside there is a processor with a Radeon graphics and we see a 3 in the lower right corner. Obviously it refers to the Ryzen 3 3200G, but inside there is a Ryzen 5 3600 processor, as the vitola indicates. The latter has 6 cores and 12 threads at a base frequency of 3.6GHz and arrives in Boost mode at 4.2GHz.
Such would be the sales of the Ryzen 5 3600 that they have run out of boxes for this processor. For this very reason, AMD would have thrown away boxes that it has available and which it cannot output. The last AMD APU they are sold rather little, since they do not contribute anything with respect to previous models. Although different sources emphasize that a packing line error, being the first time something like this has happened.
Be that as it may, it seems more like an anecdote than something else, really. We will see if AMD at some point will say the reason why the Ryzen 5 3600 box has been changed.
