Dell launches Precision 7000 for Workstation

The new Dell Precision 7000 series are based on the new Intel Xeon Platinum 9200 processors. These latest processors were introduced last week and feature 56 cores and 112 processing threads. We are talking about high-end, performance processors designed for heavy workloads. These processors are of Cascade Lake-SP architecture and are the first systems to incorporate them

There will be two versions: the Precision 7820 that will have a desktop tower design and the Precision 7920 that will arrive in tower format and 2U rack format. Both are scalable systems. For example, the Precision 7920 will support up to three NVIDIA Quadro RTX or the GV100 can be chosen.

Regarding the specifications, they will support up to 3TB DDR, up to 16TB PCIe NVMe SSD, either in M.2 or U.2 formats. Additionally, these systems will support up to 120TB of storage, thanks to the fact that it supports up to ten 3.5-inch HDDs. The Dell Precision 7000s are the first workstations to offer up to 12TB HDD support.

To cool the heat in this system and avoid performance problems, a special cooling system has been designed. Specifically, this new system has been called "intelligent multichannel thermal design". A system that is supported by the system chassis, offering "advanced cooling and acoustics"
