Der8auer launches a delid system for the Intel Xeon W-3175X processor

Launched by Der8auer the Delid-Die-Mate tool developed to make the Intel Xeon W-3175X processor delid, which has OC capability.

A few weeks ago Intel released the Xeon W-3175X processor. This new processor has 28 cores and 56 processing threads, in addition to an absurd price. It is based on the LGA 3647 socket and is characterized above all by supporting overclocking. The problem is that the temperature of this processor limits its capacity, or limited it. Der8auer has launched the delid kit for this processor, which will allow us to open it. So we can change the shabby thermoconductive paste that it has and put a much better solution.

The process of deliding a processor is a common practice among hardware enthusiasts. Not an easy practice, since it involves a lot of precision, so as not to damage the silicon of the processor. Something also outstanding is that once we withdraw the IHS warranty on the processor, it is over. The advantage it brings is the improvement in temperature and the ability to increase the frequency.

Xeon W-3175X is a high performance overclocked processor for servers, workstations and data centers. It is not a common feature on these processors. Delid can be done without problems, because Intel has not soldered the DIE and IHS, which is a real botch. A polymer-based Thermal Interface Material or TIM has been used, as in other LGA 3647 socket Xeons, hence the limitation in the overclocking ability of this processor.

On the other hand, anyone who buys this processor is truly crazy. It has a TDP of 400W, it is priced at 2.999 euros. But it is also that the motherboards for these processors have a price of 1.500 euros. Only in two components they would cost us 4.5000 euros and would still lack the heatsink, chassis, power supply, storage and graphics card, at least.

The Delid-Die-Mater is priced at 89.90 euros and can be purchased at Caseking.
