Run DOOM Eternal at 1000 FPS thanks to extreme overclocking
Overclocking is an increasingly common practice among users looking to get the most out of their hardware. There are users who have specialized in the practice and take overclocking to levels difficult to imagine. A group of overclockers has pushed the processor and graphics card to the limit to run DOOM Eternal at a rate of 1000 FPS.
A task that has not been easy at all, since for that you need first-rate hardware. Besides a good processor and good graphics, you need a great motherboard and a lot of liquid nitrogen. And the big problem with overclocking is that a large part of the energy is converted into heat.

To get us in the situation, DOOM Eternal makes use of the id Tech 7 graphic motorbike. We are talking about a fairly modern game that is highly demanding in terms of hardware necessary to run it. Remember that the minimum that is recommended, at the graphic level, is a Radeon R9 280 or a GTX 1050 Ti. We talk about needs that are already beginning to be important.
It was during QuakeCon that Bethesda to the Polish team of overclockers 'X-Kom' to reach 1000 FPS. For this they have used a Core i7-9700K that has reached 6.6GHz and an ASUS Strix RTX 2080 Ti that has reached 2400MHz. To control the temperature they have used a large amount of liquid nitrogen.
The Intel processor has been mounted on the ASUS Maximus XI APEX motherboard, one of the best on the market. It has been supplemented with 16GB HyperX Predator DDR4-4000 and a 512GB Samsung Evo Plus SSD. A 1200W power supply has been used to power the system.
All this to try to achieve 1000 FPS, something that has not been even constant. They have only reached this figure by looking at the wall, so the figure is a bit 'tricky'. Even so, during video the game runs at a high FPS rate, which already seems like a great achievement.
