Intel Lakefield drivers hides information of future processors

Last week the Intel Lakefield processors, solutions of low consumption and moderate power. These processors for very simple laptops and similar systems hide a secret in the drivers. The Core i5-L16G7 and Core i3L13G3 processors have a Windows update dated December 26. This update only compatible with these processors hides an interesting INF file.

This INF file hides a list of upcoming Intel graphics processors embedded in various processor families. Specifically, Tiger Lake (TGL), Lakefield (LKF), Elkhart Lake (EHL), Discret Graphics 1 (DG1) and Rocket Lake (RKL) are mentioned. This gives us a glimpse of what the company's next processors will offer us.

Windows 10 Intel Lakefield Driver Reveals Future Processor Data

These drivers indicate that the TGL, DG1, and RKL use the same generation of Intel Gen12 graphics. These drivers seem to be quite early, since the number of IDs for each generation is very short. Something interesting about these drivers is that there are three versions of DG1.

There are rumors that Intel's next discrete graphics card could have 3GB and 6GB of VRAM. These dedicated DG1 solutions would not reach the consumer market, according to rumors. On the other hand, the first desktop processor to use Gen12 would be the Intel Tiger Lake.
