They recreate the Dust 2 map of Counter-Strike with renewed graphics in Unreal Engine 4
A fan of Counter-Strike: Global Offensive recreates and updates the mythical map Dust 2, but using the Unreal Engine 4 graphics engine.
It started as a simple Half-Life mod and has turned into a money-making machine. The Counter-Strike saga it is one of the most important in history. There are some maps that are a classic and must be played, such as Assault, Militia, Italy and Dust 2. This last map, Dust 2, is one of the most important in the video game and is considered one of the best maps. . Now it has received one more face lift to make it even more spectacular.
Dust 2 under Unreal Engine 4 is truly brutal
Back in 2001, David Johnston created the Dust 2 map for Counter-Strike 1.1. This mod was just getting started and barely had maps at the time. This map quickly hooked users and now it would not be understood that it was not in the game. As is logical, with the different versions and updates of the game, it has undergone graphic remodeling.
Despite the 18 years of this map and the renovations, they have little to do with Quixel's. A fan of the map who has redesigned the map under the Unreal Engine 4 graphics engine. The truth is that under this graphics engine the map is a real pass.
The first step in making this new map has been to take screenshots of the entire area, to avoid missing any details. Subsequently, a scale modeling of the map with 'simple' geometric figures has been carried out. Within the Unreal Engine 4 graphics engine, the Megascan library (owned by Quixel) has already been implemented to insert the textures.
After a rather expensive process, we can see the end result, which is really impressive. A completely renewed Dust 2, which we will hardly see implemented within Counter-Strike: Global Offensive. It should be noted that Valve's game is based on the Source graphics engine, so importing it could be complex.
