The Intel Core i9 9990XE is seen in several benchmarks
First benchmark of the Intel Core i9 9990XE processor, which may not be released to the general market, only for the OEM market.
We still do not understand the insistence of launching to the market by Intel processors that do not contribute anything. The company, having serious problems meeting demand, continues to develop processors that are a chestnut. It seems that they are finalizing the launch of what will be the top-of-the-range processor of the LGA 2066 family. We are talking about the Core i9 9990XE, which will be above the Core i9 9980XE, the company's current flagship processor. This processor, curiously, sacrifices cores in favor of improving the frequency.

This new processor has 14 cores and 28 processing threads and is based on an HCC die. The processor also makes use of STIM or what is the same, it has the DIE and the IHS soldered. It allows this processor to offer a base frequency of 4.0GHz and in Boost mode it can reach 5.1GHZ (in one of the cores)
The 14-core configuration of this processor means that it has 19.25MB of shared L3 cache for all cores and 1MB of L2 cache for each core. Eliminating four cores is Intel's solution to improve working frequencies. This processor also has a brutal TDP, since it has gone to 255 watts.
There is not the least data on the part of Intel of how much this processor will cost. Previous rumors indicate that this is an OEM processor, or what is the same, it will not reach the general market.
Puget Systems, systems developer for Workstation has published several benchmarks. We see how this processor despite having four cores less than the Core i9 9980XE, is above in these tests. Note that in the benchmarks no AMD Ryzen Threadripper appears.
