NVIDIA RTX 3000 Specifications Revealed

Next week, specifically on September 2, NVIDIA will present the RTX 3000 with Ampere architecture. Days before this happens, all the specifications of these new NVIDIA RTX 3000 graphics have been leaked. Specifically, we know the data of the RTX 3090, RTX 3080 and RTX 3070. The truth is that given the proximity of the announcement date, it seems difficult that these data may vary.

These new Ampere architecture graphics cards are based on 7nm, although we do not know if from TSMC or Samsung. In addition, they implement new second generation Ray Tracing and third generation Tensor Cores. We also know that they will support PCIe 4.0, as well as HDMI 2.1 and DisplayPort 1.4 connectivity, although we do not know by what amounts.

These are the specifications of the NVIDIA RTX 3000

At the top of the range we have the RTX 3090 which will integrate no less than 5248 CUDA Cores through the GA102-300 silicon. This graphics card, as has been leaked, will have a 1695MHz Boost mode. This 24GB GDDR6X @ 19.5GHz graphics card will be accompanied with a 384bit memory interface and a bandwidth of 936GB / s. It will have a brutal TDP of 350W.

We move on to the RTX 3080 that will make use of GA102-200 silicon and that will have 4352 CUDA Cores. This graphics card would have a 1710MHz Boost mode. It will arrive with a total of 10GB GDDR6X @ 19GHz and a 320bit memory interface with a bandwidth of 760GB / s. This graphic will have a TDP of 320W.

Finally we have the RTX 3070 based on the silicon GA104-300 of which we do not know lithography and quantity of CUDA Cores. The working frequency of this graphics card is also unknown. It has been leaked to use 8GB GDDR6 @ 16GHz with a 256-bit memory interface and a bandwidth of 512GB / s. This graphics card has a TDP of 220W.

It is powerfully striking that despite the initial rumors talking about frequencies above 2GHz, in the end this will not be the case. It is also not very clear what type of lithography both companies will use.
