They also note that they have very good cooperative relationships with well-known American and international semiconductor equipment suppliers.

They also indicate that the United States Department of Commerce has issued several important export licenses to import equipment purchased by SMIC over many years.

Reuters and other media outlets reported that relevant departments of the US government are considering placing SMIC, mainland China's largest chipmaker, on a trade blacklist.

SMIC products and services are used in both civil and commercial applications. SMIC has never had any commercial activity involving military applications and has no relationship with the Chinese military.
