First leaked data from AMD EPYC Milan processors

Yesterday, all the specifications of the new AMD Ryzen Threadripper processors were revealed. Today we continue with leaks of AMD products, in this case of the EPYC Milan. These new processors are the replacement of the current EPYC Rome and will be based on the Zen3 @ 7nm + architecture. All three processors are an A0 version, which means they are engineered processors.

These new processors aim to be an improvement, especially in consumption, with respect to current models. As we can see there are no big jumps in specifications, since the maximum will continue to be 64 cores. They will support faster DDR4 memory and have better frequencies, as well as a lower TDP.

Leaked data from AMD EPYC Milan processors

The first two processors are 100-000000114-07 and 100-000000114-09. These two processors have 64 cores and 128 threads and in both cases they also have 256MB of L3 cache and a TDP of 225W. Regarding the frequencies, both start at 1200MHz, while the 07 model reaches 2.2GHz, the 09 model reaches 3.0GHz. The two processors have a configuration of 8 DIE plus the DIE I / O.

We have on the other hand the 100-000000114-03 that has 32 cores and 64 threads. This processor has a 3MB L128 cache and a 180W TDP that will be adjustable to 200W. This processor has 4 DIEs plus the I / O DIE. Both this processor and the previous two support DDR4 @ 3200MHz.

It seems that these new AMD EPYC Milan will make things even more difficult for Intel. An IPC improvement of more than 15% is expected from the current EPYC Rome, a notable jump. According to the source of the leak, production would have started or would be very close to starting and could be launched before the end of the year.
