The AMD RX 6900 XT would reach 2.4GHz in Boost mode, according to rumors

The presentation of the new AMD Radeon 6000 graphics cards is close and the leaks do not stop. Not much is known about Big Navi graphics cards with RDNA2 architecture and there are many doubts regarding their specifications. Apparently AMD is going to launch the RX 6900 XT graphics card, which will go up to 2.4GHz frequency in Boost mode.

It seems that AMD has two versions of the Navi 21 silicon. The first model would be Navi 21 XT and that it will be destined, in theory, to the Radeon 6900 XT graphics card. Then we would have the Navi 21 XTX model that would be destined for an RX 6900 XT with higher Boost frequencies and possibly with liquid cooling.

AMD RX 6900 XT could reach 2.4GHz

New rumors suggest that AMD could launch the RX 6900 XT with a boost frequency of 2.4GHz. It looks like this graphics card came with a lot of overclocking out of the box. It would be accompanied with 16GB GDDR6, since the GDDR6X memory has been acquired exclusively by NVIDIA.

As has been leaked, only the GPU would have a consumption of about 255W, which taking into account the rest of the component we would go about 350W. Something curious about this graphic is that it has a 30W USB Type C, while NVIDIA has already withdrawn this connectivity. It seems that the design of this graphic would be prior to the disappearance of the Virtual Link port.

Regarding performance, at the moment, there is no data that tells us anything for sure. Some rumors suggest that it will consume more than the RTX 3080 and perform like the RTX 3070, which is not bad. AMD will continue without having the ability to compete with the high-end, where NVIDIA reigns with solvency. We will see in a few days if these data of the AMD RX 6900 XT are confirmed.
