Alienware founder doesn't think Intel's graphics can compete with NVIDIA and AMD
Fran Azor, who is the founder and CEO of Alienware, says he does not believe that Intel's gaming graphics compete with those of NVIDIA and AMD.
The graphics card market right now, let's face it, it's embarrassing. The NVIDIA RTX are through the roof and nobody buys them, the Pascal range is not sold because it does not fall in price and that causes problems with the prices of the RTX and to top it off it seems that AMD is on the way to another loud ridiculous with the Radeon VII. Intel may launch the new dedicated gaming graphics later in the year, but the founder and manager of Alienware does not believe that Intel is a competition for AMD and NVIDIA.
Alienware founder says Intel graphics will be no match for AMD and NVIDIA
Certainly NVIDIA has been reigning in the high-end for many years and AMD lately is lurching around, doing what it can. Fran Azor, who is the founder and general manager of Alienware (Dell's gaming division) has given an interview to the IndiaTimes portal. He says he doesn't think Intel can outperform the two companies in the short term.
“Today, there is a wide spectrum of options available to you at all kinds of price points, so more solutions in the graphics space will only help gamers. So we embraced the additional option as soon as Intel graphics entered the picture. That's great.
The challenge of beating NVIDIA and AMD in terms of gaming performance is enormous. And it is not my expectation that this will happen immediately with the Intel GPU. My expectation is that Intel will come up with a good product and take its place in the market. I don't think they are better than an NVIDIA RTX 2080 Ti graphics card. I think if someone has that expectation, they will be disappointed. If Intel does it, it will be amazing. But I don't think it's reasonable. I mean Intel is an extremely capable company that I am sure will produce a really good product. But I think it is not realistic to think that they will be the best like NVIDIA or AMD immediately. "
AMD and NVIDIA are quite sad
The truth is that Intel has everything to face to kick the market and that NVIDIA and AMD do not know where it has come from. Intel's advantage is called Raja Koduri, who has been given all the money and human and material resources to develop competitive gaming graphics. It is clear that the company cannot afford another Larrabee and it seems that it will not be.
These new graphics will have the advantage of being in 10nm, it seems quite complicated to bet on 14nm, in fact, it would not make the slightest sense. We'll see what happens, but come on, as the patio is, anything can happen.
