Gigabyte: Announces Aorus RGB RAM Kit with Kind of Built-in Boost Mode

Gigabyte announced the new Aorus RGB RAM memories, which are characterized by having a special Boost system.

The best-known motherboard and graphics card manufacturers on the market are greatly expanding their catalog. Among the most important in the market is Gigabyte, which is known above all for its motherboards and graphics. The company is expanding the catalog to offer all kinds of products. Its new addition is the new Aorus RGB RAM memories, designed for the most addicted to video games.

These new memories, as well as colored lights, have 'Aorus Memory Boost' technology. This technology somewhat mimics the Turbo frequency system of processors or graphics. Add extra performance at any given time as needed. To make use of this technology you need an Aorus motherboard with the latest BIOS.

Gigabyte announces Aorus RGB memory kit

Two different kits of these memories have been presented. The normal kit (GP-AR36C18S8K2HU416R) has 2 RAM modules of 8GB each with a total capacity of 16GB. This kit works at a base frequency of 3MHz and in Boost mode it reaches 600MHz. We do not know how much improvement this increase in frequency offers, since the company does not provide more data.

Along with this comes the kit that includes fake modules (GP-AR36C18S8K2HU416RD). This second memory kit includes two empty PCBs with the heatsinks for a complete lighting system. So it seems that we have four modules instead of two and there are no empty spaces.

Aorus RGB currently only has a DDR4-3600 version. The curious thing is the latencies, in Intel they are CL19-19-19-43 and in AMD they are CL20-19-19-43 with a working voltage of 1.35V. When you go into Boost mode the latencies have not been revealed, but they should increase a bit. The price or availability of these systems has not been disclosed.
