A Gigabyte GTX 1060 graphics card with 6GB of GDDR5X memory is filtered instead of the conventional ones with GDDR5 memory.
The arrival on the market of the new NVIDIA GeForce RTX graphics cards might make you think that the GTX 10 Series based on Pascal had their days numbered, but far from reality, it seems. Gigabyte could be finalizing the launch of a new GTX 1060 graphics card that will be equipped with 6GB of GDDR5X memory, the same type of memory that the GTX 1080 and GTX 1080 Ti use. The most curious thing about this new GTX 1060 is that we would have a total of five different GTX 1060 models on the market.

We do not have much more data regarding these graphics cards, but the fact that the new GDDR5X memories are used. This could be a solution that slightly increases the performance and allows to get a handful of extra FPS at 1080p resolutions and at the same time it would be a response to the leak of the Radeon RX 590, which we do not know if it is reality or pure science fiction.
It should be noted that these memories have already been used in 'inferior' models in the past, as is the case with Zotac, who added GDDR5X memories for graphics intended for miners, but in this case they would be designed for gaming, without a doubt .
Something quite curious about this graphics card is that it will use a GP104 GPU which is the same as the GTX 1070, GTX 1070 Ti and GTX 1080, but logically much shorter in terms of CUDA Cores. The only thing that will be maintained is the bandwidth, which will be 192bits. Little more can be said until this graphics card is officially unveiled by Gigabyte.
