Today the Intel Coffee Lake Refresh and also the Skylake-X Refresh socket LGA2066 and LGA3647 are presented
Not only will the Intel Coffee Lake Refresh be presented today, the Skylake-X Refresh will also be presented for the LGA2066 socket and for the LGA3647 socket.
An event by Intel is announced today to present the new Intel Core Coffee Lake Refresh processors that correspond to the ninth generation and are intended for fans of gaming and overclocking. Together with these processors, the new Intel Skylake-X will be seen for the HEDT market, which is a revision of the current Skylake-X. These processors will come in two versions, the first simpler will be the LGA2066 socket and the second will be the ones with the most cores with their own socket, the LGA3647.
Intel will not only present the Coffee Lake Refresh, but the Skylake-X Basins Fall Refresh
The Skylake-X will be included in what is known as Basins Fall Refresh for the LGA2066 socket and seven new processors will be given, among which we will find the following processors:
- Core i9-9980XE (18 cores)
- Core i9-9960X (16 cores)
- Core i9-9940X (14 cores)
- Core i9-9920X (12 cores)
- Core i9-9900X (10 cores)
- Core i9-9820X (8 cores)
- Core i7-9800X (6 cores)
The Core i9 9980XE will be the top-of-the-range processor of this family that would be an update of the Core i9 7980XE but with the same cores, so change the working frequency and perhaps adjust the consumption a little. Specifically, this processor will be launched in the month of December while the rest of these processors will arrive between this month of October and the month of November.
Additionally, the Skylake-X for the LGA3647 socket will arrive, of which nothing is known but which will have a 28-core processor (possibly monolithic like the AMD Ryzen Threadripper) as a maximum representative and which will hit the market at the end of the year. They support up to 192GB of DDR4 RAM in Hexa-Channel configuration and the motherboards will have up to 32 VRM power phases.
