HTC Acknowledges Vive Wireless Adapter Compatibility Issues With AMD Ryzen Processors
After months of silence, HTC recognizes the problems of the Vive Wireless Adapter with the AMD Ryzen processors, accepting the return of the device
On September 24, the company HTC launched the HTC Vive Wireless Adapter, a device developed for the Vive and Vive Pro glasses that is nothing more than a wireless adapter to get rid of cables. Two months later we know that there are compatibility problems on the part of some users and professionals who have made use of this system and were using it with computers based on the AMD Ryzen processor.
HTC Vive Wireless Adapter compatibility issues with AMD Ryzen processors
More than a month ago users began to report problems with the Vive and the company has taken a month to confirm the problem, but it is that during this time the company has kept completely silent.
It seems that the compatibility problem is not universal, since there are users who comment that the system works perfectly with Threadripper processors, even Ryzen users point out that they have not had the slightest problem, but there are actually users who do have problems.
Despite the month of silence, the company has released a statement in which they indicate that they will make a refund of the sale after the established deadline to users who have an AMD Ryzen processor, which is excellent news.
“We have seen several complaints of incompatibility with AMD Ryzen computers with the Vive wireless adapter. Our current data shows that this is happening with a subset of Ryzen-based PCs. Our investigation will take time as we are working with various component manufacturers to identify the root of the problem.
In the short term, we are updating our specifications to show that certain Ryzen devices have a compatibility issue.
Additionally, beginning November 19, our customer service agents will accept Ryzen-related returns from our retail partners and vive.com outside of typical return windows.
Thank you for your patience as we continue to investigate the issue. "
