i5-14450HX appears in a benchmark, on par with the i5-13400

Intel is currently launching the Intel Core Raptor Lake Refresh, which combines a series of desktop and laptop CPUs. As usual, benchmarks are beginning to appear, based on engineering samples or review versions that they may not have the final drivers. Intel's upcoming Core i5-14450HX mobile CPU has been tested in Geekbench 5 and the data says it's as fast as the i5-13400 for desktop computers.
These are good data for a portable model, since they compare it with a good processor for mid-range gaming. According to BenchLeaks, the Core i5-14450HX was performance tested on a laptop manufactured by Colorful.
This would be the Raptor Lake Refresh i5-13400, which has a good rating in its first benchmark
Geekbench reported that the Colorful M15 24 laptop was equipped with the RTX 4050, and 16 GB of RAM. The Core i5-14450HX performed just as well as the i5-13400. The nearly equal multi-core task score clearly implies that the Core i5-14450HX ran at about or almost the same TDP as a typical Core i5-13400.
As a comparison that Tom's Hardware put, the Core i5-13450HX can be configured with a slightly higher maximum power limit than the Core i5-13400. And there is possibly a power limit of 130 watts on the Core i5-14450HX, being a bit slower. They speculate that the lower score is due to the fact that the laptop used for the benchmark uses single-channel memory.
What does it mean if RAM is single channel or dual channel?
The Geekbench 5 result indicates that the Core i5-14450HX peaked at 4,788 GHz, to end with a 4,8 GHz boost clock. It would mean an improvement of 200 MHz compared to the model i5-13450HX, which would put it on par with most other Raptor Lake upgrade chips. The frequency increase will probably be more noticeable in single-core tasks than in multi-core.

In terms of gaming performance, 200 MHz more may not go far. They believe that they would take advantage of the i5-14450HX if I used two DDR5 memories to achieve dual-channel bandwidth and perhaps increase the clock speed to Raptor Lake's default frequency of 5.600 MHz for RAM.
Regarding the launch of this model, it is speculated that, like other graphics cards from other manufacturers, other CPUs and more, it would be expected for the CES in Las Vegas that will happen next week. Also, as always when these benchmarks are passed, take them with caution due to outdated drivers, or the fact that it is believed that the laptop used for the benchmark does not have dual channel memory.
