Unreleased images of AMD Radeon R9 390X ES graphics card
Images of the AMD Radeon R9 390X ES graphics card appear, a graphics that never hit the market and that implemented a double fan.
If AMD has been known for anything to date, it's for developing graphics cards for the future, not for the present. Now, Matthew Smith, who manages the GPU and CPU database at TechPowerUp, has revealed a previously unseen graphic . He published images of the AMD Radeon R9 390X (Engineering Sample), which is notable for having two fans. It was developed in 2015 and has a design that's considerably longer than what we're used to. We could even say it's a 2.0 version of the Radeon R9 290X, which had a terrible reference cooler.

Not much else is known apart from the images shown at this point. The graphic has a gigantic heatsink based on a large number of aluminum fins crossed by 8mm thick copper heatpipes. It has two fans for heat dissipation. According to some information, they could reduce the temperature between 15º and 20º with respect to the temperatures of the reference model.
As explained, this would actually be the factory overclocked R9 390X. It would be based on the 28nm lithography Grenada XT silicon that has 2816 Stream Processors and would be accompanied by 8GB GDDR5 with a 512-bit memory interface. This graph would have come with a TDP of 275W. It's certainly a shame that this chart never ended up hitting the market.
