Impressive increase in gaming monitor sales in 2018: 5.1 million units, which is 100% more than in 2017
Over 5.1 million gaming monitors have been sold this year, leading the ASUS market, closely followed by Acer.
The gaming peripherals market has seen a significant rebound this year, which has given impetus to the hardware industry in general and demonstrating that consoles are far from being the top representatives of the world of video games. Despite Intel's problems in recent months, this year there has been a lot of movement in terms of renovating systems thinking about gaming. One of the segments that has been promoted the most this year is that of gaming monitors, specially developed with unique characteristics thinking of video game lovers.

The forecasts on the sale of monitors this year are expected to be around 5.1 million units sold worldwide this year. The report has been produced by WitsView, a division of TrendForce.
WitsView considers any type of screen that has a refresh rate above 100Hz as a gaming monitor. According to the study they have carried out, this type of monitors have suffered a 100% increase in sales compared to 2017-
ASUS, as the largest seller of this type of monitors and Acer in second position, have been the largest sellers of gaming monitors in the market. The third position is expected to be held by either AOC / Philics to occupy the third position followed by Samsung. The disappearance of BenQ from the market stands out, since it does not appear in the forecasts despite occupying the third position last year.
This study also gives a rather curious fact and that is that 95% of the gaming screens that Samsung has sold this year are curved. What's more, 50% of the gaming monitors sold are curved, a very interesting fact, if we take into account that in 2017 they represented 23%. As for flat LCD screens for gaming, it is expected to go from 77% to 46%, which represents a brutal change in trend.
