Benchmark of a Tiger Lake-U with 4 cores and 8 threads, it has the same IPC as the Core i7-8700K
A 4-core, 8-thread Intel Tiger Lake-U processor that has a higher IPC than the Core i7-8700K processor appears in User Benchmark
In the coming months, Intel should begin flooding the market with processors built on its 10nm manufacturing process. The company has faced significant challenges in launching processors using this process. It appears those problems are now behind them. An Intel Tiger Lake-U processor, codenamed Willow Cove, has recently appeared on the User Benchmark database.
Tiger Lake-U is a family of processors under the 10nm that has been developed for portable equipment. Processors that combine performance with energy efficiency. The TDP of these processors ranges from 15W to 28W, depending on the model. They should offer, among others, an improvement in terms of performance, autonomy and temperature.

The new processors under the 10nm lithography should correct all vulnerabilities at the design level. This new lithographic process from Intel also offers 2.7 times more density than the current 14nm. According to reports, these 10nm would be equivalent to TSMC's 5nm.
Returning to the leaked processor, this Intel CPU will have 4 cores and 8 processing threads. This processor will work at a base frequency of 1.2GHz and will arrive in Boost mode at 3.6GHz. Regarding the IPC, it beats the Core i7-8700K, which is a very interesting data.
| CPU | Freq.Medium | Performance 1 core | 2 nuclei | 4 nuclei | 8 nuclei |
| Intel Tiger Lake-U (4 Cores / 8 Threads) Early Sample | 3.60 GHz | 146 | 286 | 551 | 701 |
| Intel Core i9-9900K (8 Cores / 16 Threads) | 4.95 GHz | 154 | 309 | 615 | 1194 |
| Intel Core i7-8700K (6 Cores / 12 Threads) | 4.50 GHz | 140 | 274 | 544 | 979 |
| Intel Core i7-8565U (4 Cores / 8 Threads) | 4.00 GHz | 132 | 270 | 501 | 616 |
| AMD Ryzen 9 3900X (12 Cores / 24 Threads) | 4.25 GHz | 140 | 277 | 553 | 1092 |
| AMD Ryzen 7 3750H (4 Cores / 8 Threads) | 3.50 GHz | 118 | 216 | 394 | 591 |
| AMD Ryzen 7 3700U (4 Cores / 8 Threads) | 3.25 GHz | 110 | 204 | 365 | 547 |
A core of this Willow Cove running at 3.6GHz from the Tiger Lake-U processor offers 146 points. The Intel Core i7-8700K processor running at 4.5GHz (Boost Frequency) gives us 140 points. As we can see these new 10nm processors are a real beast. But is that the Core i9-9900K working at 4.95GHz offers us 154 points.
Another important element of the Tiger Lake-U is that it integrates Gen12 graphics, also known as Intel Xe. This integrated graphics reaches 30FPS in DirectX 9 and 28.8FPS in DirectX 10. This is better performance than the AMD Radeon Vega integrated in the Ryzen 3000 APUs. These processors could hit the market in the next few months.
