Although Intel's numbers are good on paper, reality indicates different things. The 7-month delay with 10nm is added to the multi-year delay of 20nm. Constant production problems, vulnerabilities and other problems leave the company in a complex situation. To top it off, they announce a Graphics Xe event in XNUMX days on Twitter and then delete the message.

Without asking anyone and without prior notice Intel Graphics on Twitter announced an event in 20 days where they would talk about the Graphics Xe. These new graphics cards should be the company's first competent dedicated solutions. Remember that Larrabee was a monumental disaster and hardly any units were sold.

Theoretically the event would be August 14, a rather rare date for a presentation. Lots of people on vacation or at the beach (if COVID allows). The month of August is not usually very prolific in terms of news and various information. Not to mention that on September 2, Intel has invited us to an event to present something 'new'.

What we expect in September are the Tiger Lake processors @ 10nm for laptops. These processors have Graphics Xe, called Intel Gen12. Theoretically, this iGPU should offer a big leap in performance and allow for smooth laptop gaming at decent resolution.

Perhaps, the tweet wanted to refer to the September event and someone sneaked in when putting the message. We imagine that the initial idea was in 20 days to launch a tweet remembering the event of September 2. Someone would have been confused and published that in 20 days the company would announce something important. But there is also the possibility that the company has retracted its initial thinking.
