Intel Core i3-10100 and AMD Ryzen 3 3100 in technical tie in several benchmarks

The battle between Intel and AMD in the processor market is intense, but currently AMD has the upper hand. Ryzen is a range of processors that offers good performance for a very reasonable price. Now Ryzen 3 3100 and Core i3-10100 benchmarks have been leaked under 3DMark Fire Strie and Time Spy benchmark software, with an interesting result.

These two processors are going to compete for the low-end systems and share quite a few features. Perhaps the AMD processor has an advantage for being in 7nm, being able to be more efficient than the Intel 14nm processor. But the one who wins the most is the user, since in 3 years we have seen how the 4 cores went from being the top of the range to being low-end.

First confrontation between the Intel Core i3-10100 and the AMD Ryzen 3 3100

About the Intel Core i3-10100 processor, say that it has 4 cores and 8 threads at a base frequency of 3.6GHz and in Boost mode it reaches 4.3GHz. This processor has 6MB of L3 cache and a 65W TDP. On the other hand, the AMD Ryzen 3 3100 with also 4 cores and 8 threads, works at a base frequency of 3.6GHz and in Boost mode it reaches 3.9GHz. This processor has 16MB of L3 cache (double that of the Core i3-10100) and a 65W TDP.

Both processors in specifications are very similar and in prices they should also be similar. For this reason we depend on the benchmarks made to these processors. Under Fire Strike and Time Spy, both processors give fairly similar results, with little difference.

The parity of results will end it by breaking other aspects, such as price. Not only the price of the processor, but of the motherboards, something that AMD benefits from. Intel launches a new socket for the Comet Lake-S, while the AMD processor is compatible with older motherboards. We could find very cheap motherboards for the Ryzen 3 3100, so we could have a great system for less money.
