Intel could outsource the Core i3, which would be manufactured by TSMC in 5nm
Currently the production capacity of processors by Intel is quite a significant problem. Its 14nm line is very saturated due to the processors based on this lithograph and the 10nm line would not be exactly very good. Now it seems that Intel would demand TSMC to manufacture its Core i3 processors and would like them under the 5nm lithography.
The problems that Intel has in terms of processor manufacturing are important. Not only have they been stuck at 14nm, Skylake architecture processors have been seen to have a lot of security issues. Intel is not the first time to ask TSMC to produce some of its processors and it certainly will not be the last.

It seems that during Q1 2021 the 'outsourcing' of part of its processors was announced by Intel. There is quite a chance that the Intel Core i3s will be productive by TSMC in the 5nm lithography by 2022.
Of course, it is a big surprise, since the Core i3 are among the best-selling processors by Intel. We must also bear in mind that Intel has never outsourced the production of its processors, except for the Pentium and Celeron. So they would be the first in the Core range to be produced by another foundry. Still, it makes a lot of sense, since the Core i3s are low-core processors and therefore easy to produce.
Outsourcing of these processors would be aimed at reducing costs and increasing supply capacity. This would try to compete with the AMD Ryzen 3 processors, which have very good sales.
We will see what happens and if this information is finally confirmed, since for 2022 there is still enough. Theoretically by 2022, Intel should already be on 7nm lithography, which seems quite complicated. Possibly in 2022 it continues to manufacture processors in 10nm and they want TSMC to manufacture the Core i3 to compete with the AMD processors. Only time will tell.
