Intel Core i5-10500H, a strange 6-core 8-thread processor
Intel's strategy of launching Coffee Lake Refresh processors without processing threads was quite controversial. This will be reversed in Comet Lake-S , which will once again include processing threads across all product lines. Now, a mysterious processor called the Core i5-10500H, based on the 14nm process, has surfaced. What's unusual about it? Well, this processor reportedly has 6 cores and 8 processing threads.
This is the first time it has been seen, since normally there are 2 processing threads for each physical core. Thus, 4-core processors, for example, have 8 threads or 4 threads, if they do not have multithreaded. We do not know if this is really true or it is a software error when taking the Intel processor.

As stated, this Core i5-10500H processor will have 6 cores and 8 processing threads. We see that this processor would work at a base frequency of 2.5GHz and would reach 2.505 threads in Boost mode. Possibly we are talking about an engineering sample and the data has not been code correctly. Notably, the Core i5-10500 has 6 cores and 12 threads.
Perhaps the strangest thing is that the Core i5-10500H performance is similar in performance to the 7-core, 10750-thread Core i6 12H. The idea of this strange processor is to compete with the 5-core, 4600-thread AMD Ryzen 6 12H for laptops.
For our part, we are more likely to think that the Core i5-10500H will actually have 6 cores and 12 threads. The base frequency will be 2.5GHz and in Boost mode it could be around 3.0GHz, to avoid excess consumption and temperature. We do not know the TDP of this processor and the rest of its characteristics.
