Intel Core i7-10700K appears in SiSoftware Sandra benchmark

The problems that have been found Intel with the indispensable and necessary 10nm due to their monolithic silicon they force the company to stick with 14nm. The 14nm process is more than exhausted and does not give more of itself, being insufficient to compete with the AMD Ryzen 3000. Even with all the problems, it seems that Comet Lake-S they won't be such bad processors at the performance level.

Comet Lake-S is an impromptu solution of Intel with more cores in 14nm and therefore, more heat and more consumption. Theoretically these new Intel processors will arrive with price cuts, although we will see that in due course. For now, they look good on paper, then we will have to see if they are competitive and if they are worth it.

Intel Core i7-10700KF featured on SiSoftware Sandra

We know that this Core i7-10700KF processor It has 8 cores and 16 threads, with the HyperThreading eliminated in the Coffee Lake Refresh-S. This processor works at a base frequency of 3.8GHz and reaches 4.8GHz in Boost mode on all cores. Only in the best of cores this processor can reach the frequency of 5.3GHz and if we have good cooling. All for a 'modest' 125W TDP.

In case anyone is still not clear, the 'K' indicator refers to the fact that they have overclocking capacity. The 'F' flag refers to the graphics being disabled, possibly because the iGPU is faulty.

Intel Core i7-10700K

Something very interesting is that this processor in terms of performance seems to be close to the Ryzen 7 3800X. The AMD processor also has 8 cores and 16 threads, working at a base frequency of 3.9GHz and in Boost mode at 4.5GHz. AMD's solution has a TDP of 105W, being more efficient.

Intel's processor offers 294.33GOPs, while AMD's offers 308.9GOPs, which is 5% more. What makes the difference seems to be the performance per watt consumption. The AMD processor offers 2.74GOPs / W compared to 1.18GOPs / W. We see that the Intel processor is more inefficient, so it starts as a somewhat worse solution.
