Intel Core i9-10900K can go up to 5.3GHz with Velocity Boost

It seems that the new Intel Comet Lake-S processors are going to implement some interesting news. These processors are 14nm but would be based on 10nm lithography, according to some rumors. If a while ago I know filtered that these processors would have a TDP of 125W, now the frequency has been filtered. It seems that the Core i9-10900 will go up to 5.3GHz on one core.

Velocity Boost is a technology implemented by Intel in these new processors that we don't know much about. Apparently this frequency will be reached, as long as the cooling of the processor is quite cane. It looks like it will be something like AMD's XFR, but working properly.

Intel Core i9-10900K @ 5.3GHz

The filtered image reveals the operating frequency of several of the Comet Lake-S processors. This 10-core, 20-thread processor will work at a base frequency of 3.7GHz, it could go in Boost mode at 5.1GHz. One of the cores in Max Turbo 3.0 could reach 5.2GHz and under the Velocity Boost parameter at 5.3GHz. In short, it will reach 4.8GHz in all cores and maybe one of the cores will go up a bit more and thank you.

Also the slide reveals something interesting and is that Velocity Boost will only work with the Core i9. This we know because in the Core i7 and Core i5 it is marked as N / A. It is also striking that this technology will also be compatible with the Core i9-10900. This processor starts at 2.8GHz and reaches 5.0GHz in Boost mode, reaching 5.1GHz in Max Turbo 3.0. With Velocity Boost you can reach 5.2GHz and 4.5GHz on all cores

Intel Core i9-10900K

The Core i7-10700K with 8 cores and 16 threads will work at a base frequency of 3.8GHz and in Boost mode it will reach 5.0GHz. For its part, the core i5-10600K offers us 6 cores and 12 processing threads at a base frequency of 4.1GHz and that will arrive in Boost mode at 4.8GHz. The two processors, as well as the Core i9-10900K will have a TDP of 125W.

Finally note that all processors will support DDR4 @ 2933Mhz in Dual Channel. Finally all the processors will have 40 PCIe 3.0 lanes.
