i9-10980XE is 30% more powerful than the AMD Ryzen Threadripper 2950X

Leaked the first benchmark of the Intel Core i9-10980XE, which with 18 cores destroys the AMD Ryzen Threadripper 2950X processor.

Before the arrival of the AMD Ryzen Threadripper processors, it seems that the Intel Core-X will arrive. Intel processors are intended for workstations and home servers. If a few days ago the Core i9-10900X from the Cascade Lake-X family, now the Core i9-10980XE benchmark has been leaked. As with the Core i9-9980XE, it will be the top-of-the-range processor of this new generation.

This new processor will remain in the 14nm lithography, in the most recent version of it. It seems that at the moment Intel will only launch 10nm for laptops and little else. It is possible that 10nm for desktop CPUs will arrive in 2020 and match it with its dedicated graphics.

First benchmark of the Intel Core i9-10980XE

About this new Core i9-10980XE, we must emphasize that it will be a monster with 18 cores and 36 threads. This processor will arrive in Boost mode at 4.6GHz, the base frequency has not been revealed. It will have 18MB of L2 cache and 24.75MB of L3 cache. The TDP has not been revealed, but it should be around 200W, at the very least.

We see how in GeekBench this Core i9-10980XE processor obtains 51 514 points. It clearly destroys the Ryzen Threadripper 2950X processors which scores 35 points. The AMD processor has 691 cores and 16 threads, but we see how it is very low. It assumes that the AMD processor is 32% below this new processor, despite the little difference in terms of cores.

It should be noted that we still do not have the third generation Threadripper on the market. Eventually these new processors from AMD could be delayed as TSMC has more demand than production capacity. Among others, caused by the production of chips for Apple smartphones and that the Ryzen 3000 sell better than expected.
