Intel highlights that AMD Ryzen have improved a lot, but their processors are still better in gaming

During Gamescom, Intel has spoken highly of the AMD Ryzen processors, but without missing the opportunity to say that the Core i9-9900K is the best gaming processor

Intel's situation in the processor market is not the best. The company is stuck at 14nm for being overly ambitious at 10nm. This has allowed AMD, with its Zen2 @ 7nm processors, to come quite close in raw power and surpass them in quality / price. An improvement on Ryzen that has earned the company praise from Intel, which is very rare.

Although Intel has spoken well of AMD's Ryzen, as always, it is one of those venomous compliments. They emphasize that the Ryzen processors have improved a lot, they are very powerful and everything you want, but they say that they are still above in raw power. They are certainly right about it, albeit relatively.

Intel speaks highly of AMD Ryzen processors

Troy Severson, Sales Development Manager, Intel PC Gaming & VR, spoke at Gamescom. Specifically, he highlighted that a year ago they launched the Core i9-9900K, the most powerful gaming processor in the world. It highlights that after this twelve-month period, nothing has changed. While it is true, this processor is expensive and has serious temperature problems.

It's true that the Intel Core i9-9900K outperforms the Ryzen 9 3900X in gaming benchmarks. This wouldn't be the case in synthetic benchmarks, but in actual gaming, the picture changes. And that's even considering the mitigations for various vulnerabilities.

Severson notes that in games the Intel Core i9-9900K is better in games. It is no less true that the four extra cores of the Ryzen 9 3900X offer you an advantage in tasks such as video editing. The two processors are quite even in terms of price, the Ryzen being the most interesting.

We see how even Intel recognizes the great evolution of AMD processors, something undeniable. But, by the end of the year Intel processors based on 10nm should arrive, which should offer a big leap. Until then, 'Ryzen Rules!'
