Intel is already in development of the DG3 graphics that would arrive in 2022

This same weekend Intel has presented us the exclusive Intel DG1 graphics cards for laptops. The company is already working on the future of its graphics cards and they are already working on DG2 graphics called Intel Jupiter Sound. We do not know much about these graphs, since the first reference of these appears within an update of the Apple macOS operating system.

The Intel DG1 solution will be exclusive to notebooks with Intel Tiger Lake-U processors. This solution comes to offer an acceptable performance in gaming and above all focuses on work. Using Intel Deep Link technology, dedicated graphics and iGPU can communicate and thus improve system performance, especially in AI and the like.

Intel would already be working on DG3 graphics

Apparently this new Intel DG3 would use a chiplet configuration implementing up to 4 'tiles'. It would be based on the Xe-HP architecture, which allows to unify up to four DIEs to create a powerful graphics. Each DIE has up to 2048 Execution Units, so we would have a total of 8192 Execution Units.

But Intel DG3 will not arrive until 2022, before the Intel DG2 will arrive that are based on the Xe-HPG architecture. The DG2 charts, according to rumors, will integrate support for RayTracing through Vulkan. Little else is known about these new graphics cards, but they would offer good performance.

About the DG1 we know that it will be based on the Intel 10nm SuperFin lithography, an exclusive process of the company. This graphic has 768 Execution Units, adding a total of 4096 Shaders Processors at a frequency of 1.65GHz. In addition, it will feature 4GB LPDDR4X @ 4266MHz with a 128-bit memory interface. It will have a very tight TDP of just 25W and promises to deliver pretty good performance under 1080p resolutions. We will see in 2021 when the first laptops with these graphics are launched that work.
