Intel would be working on 32 GPU models of the Arc Alchemist series
According to information found in a new driver update, Intel may be preparing up to 32 models of Arc Alchemist discrete GPUs for desktop and laptop computers. This number suggests that Intel will offer a fairly wide selection of GPUs, some designed for laptops and others for more demanding tasks such as artificial intelligence, ray tracing gaming, or even cryptocurrency mining, as they have stated that Intel does not intend to limit mining on their GPUs.
Intel Graphics Drivers v30.0.101.1002 for Integrated and Standalone GPUs indicate that Intel has reserved up to 32 PCI IDs for its DG2 family of discrete graphics processing units to be marketed under the Arc Alchemist series. All of this comes from the LaptopVideo2Go user via VideoCardz. A PCI ID generally represents a separate product or a new SKU, which indicates the potential of these 32 different cards either at launch or in the future when they can talk about these graphics.
The Intel Arc Alchemist series will not lack of models for each user
Based on Intel's official renders for their Arc Alchemist family of GPUs only show two different processors, it would mean that they plan to release two graphics chips (one large and one small). Each would offer different configurations. Although they may have simply shown two models at the moment and will show more later.
It is very likely that a lot of them are laptop specific models since mobile GPUs tend to be available with different TGPs, clocks and settings. We also know that they plan to cater to home users, professionals and even servers, which would explain such a number of listed models.
To put the number of DG2 models in context, Intel currently offers only three discrete Xe-LP based GPUs: the Iris Xe Max with 96 Execution Units (EU) for notebooks, the Iris Xe discrete GPU with 80 EU for desktop computers, and the server GPU with 96 EU for servers that is mainly used to stream Android games over the cloud.
